It was 3 in the morning ,doctor Karan tossed in bed aimlessly trying to get some sleep,he felt physically worn out,and naturally so,after running around in the hospital looking after grievously burnt people who had been caught in a devastating fire which had burnt down a movie theatre.It was a grey night with not a star in the sky,it was raining in torrents ,Karan did not know when his eyes closed and he fell asleep.The water entering through the window which he had failed to close,had drenched his bed and soaked him through and through,when his servant went to work the next morning,she found the doctor burning with fever,she rang up the hospital and he was atonce removed to the hospital,he was diaganised with hini flu and his condition turned from bad to worse,the doctor could not bear to live in such a ravaged body and he started pleading for mercy killing,his doctor friends gave him all possible treatment to cure him of his ailment but nothing helped’
His best friend Dr Narender who had heard about the amazing recovery of the aids patient approached God and beseeched Him to help his friend.”he is very sick Sir,if you don’t help him he will never recover,he is so sick with hini flu that he is pleading for mercy killing”,
“no one has a right to kill even himself,this life is a gift of God to a man,and it is only God who has right to take or give life”,replied God”
“but why is a mans sufferings so great that he can not bear to live?”,asked Dt Narender.
“the man should give himself upto God and God will decide wether he can remove his sufferings or not,every thing depemds upon his karmas and his will power and power of positive thinking, if he has the will to live ,he can then conquer his disease and over come it” ,answered God
“but why does a man suffer?”,
“a man suffers because he breaks the rules of nature ,in youth he is drunk with the wine of being alive and young, he falls madly in love with himself, he wants to satisfy all the needs of his body, he indulges in sex, drugs, alcohol everything and anything which gives him a high but when his body starts crumbling against the onslaught of his numerous vices and starts revolting and cries for mercy, he does not heed the first signs of danger, he keeps on hurting his body, then suddenely when the body can take in no more beatings, it starts decaying, disease sets in and then death beckons you,”, said God
“how does a human being get rid of his bad habits?”, questioned Dr Narender
“A man should try his best to get rid of his bad habits before his body starts protesting, it is not easy to change bad habits because they are tenacious, they leave an impression on the consciousness as a result of this influence one is likely to repeat the action . After several repitations the inclination is so strengthened that the action becomes a habit, habits are nothing but repitations of your own thoughts and these you have the capacity to change, your thoughts mould your actions and mental convictions, if you keep on repeating these actions, they harden the thoughts into unyielding habit patterns, therefore you should change your bad habits by remembering that these bad habits are nothing but the manifestations of your own thoughts, you should never give up hope of being batter, if you will live according to the norms set down by nature then your body will never come to grief“said God

“the saints,the guru’s the priests in the temples who have no bad habits ,who use the whole day in the service of God”,
“you can only perceive their outer appearance,outwordly they may appear very kind,very good,very saintly,but peep into their souls and you will see their souls covered with a heavy coating of vice and lust.Hiding behind the holy name of God they commit many heinous crimes,they are more vile then the worst scoundrel,but these men of God never show their true faces,only the God knows the sinner behind the saints mask and when these people suffer,the ordinary man starts questioning himself that what is the use of praying when God can not even save His bhaktas from suffering?but God is all knowing,He is just,kind and loving,He will never make a good man suffer.Gods love is pure and unselfish.It is divine love,this love makes you achieve harmony with nature and its varied creations and blissful reunion with the almighty” ,replied God
“God please come with me and help my friend he is in great agony ”,God went with Dr Narender to see his friend Karan .On seeing him .God said, ”isn’t he the same doctor who was caught in a kidney racket?”,
“yes he is the same doctor, but nothing has been proved yet” ,replied the doctor
“I had kept tract of the full case, I came to know from the reports published in the newspapers that his agents were spread all over India ,they would entice the poor and the needy to come to this hospital for imaginary ailments and once they would be here they would be drugged, operated upon to remove their kidneys and then the kidneys would be sold at very high prices, am I right?”.Narender chose not to reply
“the racket would have not come to light but for a poor man who had suffered acute tummy ache and he went for CT scan and then he came to know about the missing kidney and he went and reported his ordeal to the police”,said God.God looked at Narender with piercing eyes,Narender shifted his eyes and started looking at his feet in embrassement.” According to the statement printed in the newspapers and shown on television
the poor man had once before also suffered from stomach pain and your friends agents brought him to your friend who is supposed to be an expert in his field,he prescribed a course of medicines for him which the poor man could ill afford,then to brain wash him he showed him some realy gruesome pictures of people in advanced stage of stomach disease,the implication was clear as day light,either he go in for surgery or he would suffer like the people shown to him in the pictures,the poor man was frighten out of his wits and he agreed to go under the knife and he lost his kidney”,said God
“as I have told you sir before also that nothing has been proved yet and ,until his crime is proved,he should be considered innocent”,said Nrender
“anything is possible these days ,money can work more miracles then even God, a man can get away from every thing by bribing ,but how can he escape Gods wrath ,who is all knowing today his sufferings are due to his bad deeds, he has done so much evil in his life, that the evil has caught up with him and is destroying his innards and giving him untold sufferings .Doctors are revered as Gods because they are known to give life ,but if they turn butchers and kill people then who will put their trust in doctors? medicine is a noble profession, but many of you have degraded it by indulging in malpractices .There is a karmic law what you shall sow ,you shall reap, if you sow thorns you can not expect to reap fruits .Your friend here is reaping what he has sown, he has brought misery to so many lives, that the same misery has him in its grip. I have no sympathy for such people ”,replied God “
“please sir forgive him ,he will never indulged in malpractices in future I assure you. Even the worst sinner is forgiven once he has repented ”,said Narender
“is there any worst man then your friend? the sorrow and pain, the depression and bitterness he has been handing around ,how is he going to mend their broken hearts ,how is he going to rebuild the lives of the poor who were the sole bread winners of their families ?”asked God
Karan who was listening to every thing suddenely spoke in a voice barely audible
”my pain has removed the veil f greed it has planted the flag of truth and honesty within the fortress of my rebel soul”.
“since you are truly repentant ,my friend will help you start your life again ,He will provide you with one more chance in your life, but in your new life you must show compassion towards the needy and dispirited ”said Narender
“I give you a solemn promise that I will turn over a new leaf” ,Karan said in a whisper
“you must forget that you are ill ”,God told him
“I will try and forget that I am ill”, replied Karan slowly
“not just try”. God insisted, ”you must this very moment release this pain from your mind” ,said God encouragingly
Karan ,who was in a receptive frame of mind, to the amazement of onlookers he sat up on his own without any support .He turned to God and said, ”you are right sir the moment I stopped thinking about my illness and started thinking of God I felt better”
“if you donot acknowledge pain and illness and if you refuse to be over come by them you will find out that the sickness will always be miles away from you ,remember that the mind cannot suffer any pain unless it accepts the suggestion of pain, you may be forsaken by every one but God will not forsake you ,if you look at God He will look at you ,if you remember God and always keep Him in your thoughts, God will also remember you”,God said giving him an elfin smile
“I will remember sir and from today I will lead an honest and a truthful life” ,he got up ,touched Gods feet and took His blessings
