WHEN GOD WALKED THE EARTH CHAPTER 11
God is caught in bombing of a hotel in Bombay

It was the last day of the month of November and the house occupied by God and His friends had to be vacated, John and Harry decided to live in a mans hostel, where as God and John requested his friend Dr Mohammed to accommodate God in his house. It was also the last Thursday of the month. John was invited by his American friend to a party to celebrate the Thanks giving day, since he knew no one at the party, he decided to take God and Harry along to give him company .Harry excused himself by saying that he had an appointment with his girl friend and when he asked God to join him ,God wanted to know what was the festival was all about.
”thanks giving day is the most loved festivals of all American festivals, on this day all Americans gather together with family and friends and thank God for the food He has given them besides on this day they pig out on food especially turkey and therefore it is also called the turkey day ”,said John”
“they only eat turkey on this day”, was Gods question
‘other delicacies are also eaten like pumpkin pie, mashed sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce” ,replied John
“I don’t think I will be able to stomach this type of food besides since it is last day of our stay in this house I have made up my mind to taste the famous vada pav at the stall down the road,I heard it is very delicious”,said God
“as you wish,was John’s reply
When both John and Harry left the house, God too went out and started walking towards the food stall ,suddenely a man ran after Him and asked Him” do you recognize me?”.
God smiled and answered,” I recognize every body, it is you who forget me, what have you been doing?.
The simple man laughed and answered,” sir I kept my promise and instead of wasting my life in drinking, I have got employement in a Krishna temple as a security man and I have attained great peace of mind ,my wife is employed as a helper in their kitchen and my son is admitted to the school run by the temple ,your advice sir on the day of Govinda’s when you saved my son has changed my life completely”.
God smiled and blessed him ”your mind has rejected the wrong tendencies ,and since you have ploughed in the field of your mind constructive divine tendencies therefore your sensual and unethical tendencies are wiped off and you have become a noble person, you get back what you give in this world ,I am happy you are spreading happiness around you and you will get back all the happiness in the world believe me”, said God ,He raised His hand to bless him and went on His way, that night the man slept blissfully and got up happy and content with life.

After blessing the man ,God walked to the stall ,on reaching there He found a big crowd before the stall, every one was in a hurry to get hold of the sizzling hot vadas .A man standing besides Him asked” you are a first timer”.God nodded His head”I come here daily in the night to eat, this is my dinner ,it is not only delicious but it is also affordable”.
When Gods turn came, the man at the counter picked up the sizzling hot vada from the wok smothered it with red chutney and cushioning it between a pav(Indian burger),he placed it over a banana leaf and handed it over to God. God took a bite and its tangy and chilli flavours burst into His mouth.His eyes filled with tears and He went into a fit of coughing.The vada burnt His tongue and put His mouth on fire but its taste was so overpoweringly delicious that He couldn’t resist taking a second bit.He had hardly bitten into the vada,when a taxi blew up at a distance,the impact of the blast was so powerful that the body of the driver was torn asnder .His head blew up and landed on the ledge of the third floor of the building close by,the cars standing close by blew up into pieces and the windows of the buildings were completely shattered,the people who were standing nearby collapsed on the floor and their arms and legs flew in different directions.it was a horrific sight,there was blood and gore everywhere .Before any one could understand what had happened,a car appeared in sight and a hail of bullets from the car was showered indiscriminately on the bystanders.Everyone started running helter skelter looking for a shelter,shouting,screaming,shrieking and crying.God too was pushed forward by the surging crowd and He was pushed in a hotel nearby,He had hardly found His footing when two terrorists appeared on the main door and mowed down the security guards and the snooper dogs with their AK-47 rifles .God immediately ran in to the dining hall, it was amazingly peaceful inside ,people were blissfully enjoying themselves with friends and family ,food and wine. God felt sorry for these people because He knew that in an instant everything would change and they would enter the heart of darkness. Within moments the hall reverberated with the noise of gunfire and hand grenades. The explosions were so huge that it shattered the glass doors and windows of the restaurant. Pieces from the ceiling started falling and water pipes in the restaurant burst filling the restaurant with water ,with water ,smoke too filled the room due to the hand grenades being lobbed by the terrorists to burn down the hotel
Everyone started feeling breathless and were coughing violently ,they put their hope in God and started praying to Him fervently to save them in this hour of crisis ,and although God was present amongst them and was hearing their prayers, He could do nothing to help them
He had never felt so powerless before ,God was filled with rage and disbelief, in a strange flip flop all the stuff He had seen on the television became real-fire ,the bullets, the gun totting thugs all were for real ,but He did not know how to get Himself and others out of this hell-yes this must be the hell which He had created for downfallen and cruel people

Suddenely the terrorists appeared in the doorway and smilingly told everyone that they were safe and they could leave, they assured them that they would do them no harm. With sighs of relief everyone started scampering towards the doorway, as they were leaving the terrorists started firing at them laughing uproar sly ,almost everyone died on the spot, but God survived because a few people fell on His body rather violently knocking Him off, when He regained His consciousness ,He found Himself surrounded by commandos who told the few people who had escaped the gun fire that they were being rescued and everyone was asked to move out., when they stepped out ,the terrorists opened fire on them from a distance of barely 8 to 10 meters. For the first time God had a good look at them, they were young boys barely out of their teens .One of them had all his fingers cut off and the blood was dripping from his fingers but this did not seem to affect him in the least ,he kept firing with his other hand. His comrade could hardly stand up because there were serious bullet injuries on his legs and the blood dripping from his wounds was making tiny rivulets around him but completely unaffected by his sufferings he kept on firing.
God was completely shaken up to see so much evil locked up in a human mind. God knew that they were fighting to create supremacy of their religion ,but no holy book in the whole universe espoused terror and killing of innocents .Which holy book were they following ?why were they not enjoying their young and beautiful lives? why had ugliness taken hold of their young hearts? As God was engrossed in these thoughts ,a bullet grazed His hips ,and suddenely an intense burning pain flooded His body ,at that instant a man sprang towards the terrorists and gripped the barrel of the rifle of one of them with both his hands, the terrorist pulled the trigger and a spray of bullets entered his abdomen which blew out his bowels leaving his intestines hanging out.
Immediately God rushed towards him and dragged him into a room, cleaned him with napkins available in the room and pushed his intestines in with His bare hands .He tied a table cloth tightly around his stomach to hold the intestines in ,but they kept on slipping out ,God had no option but to place him on His lap and hold hands to his bowels so that the intestines remained inside. Hours passed and God sat in great pain nursing the man in His lap. The ambulance arrived late in the morning and took the man to the hospital. God too walked out but He could see blood and human flesh on the floor and on the ceiling and the walls.I t was a terrible sight of destruction and decay which God would not be able to forget easily.
When God returned home ,He found both His friends waiting at the door looking out anxiously” where have you been, we were very worried, we tried calling you on your mobile but it was switched off ”,said John
“we even went to search you at the stall, but there was nobody there except the police and we came to know about the whole thing from them and then we switched on the television and we came to know about the carnage which had taken place, we kept thinking that there was a mistake these things could not happen in the city like Bombay, we were hoping and praying for your safe return and God has answered our prayers. now go and take some rest, you look very tired we can talk later on”, said Harry

On entering His room, He found Goddess Laxshni sitting on His bed waiting for Him”you have come back at last”.
“yes” ,replied God
“enjoyed the experience?, asked the Goddess
“I have seen hell today” ,God replied in a solemn voice. ”I would not want even the worst person on this earth to experience it, it was horrible, very horrible ,I felt very helpless because I could help anyone nor myself”
“this is because you have left all your powers behind, come back my lord we are all missing you, without you heaven does not seem to be same at all”, said the Goddess.
“the time is not yet ripe to come back” ,replied God
“I know you will do as you please therefore I wont prevail upon you to return ”,said the Goddess, ”but you are hurt aren’t you?”,
“its nothing serious ,I have only got a slight hurt on my hips”
“you are in a human body my lord ,if you don’t take proper care of it, it is going to give you a lot of pain and trouble, now show me where you are hurt? .God showed her ,His wound ,on seeing the wound ,Goddess had her eyes full with tears, how could God suffer so much, His body must have been in great pain but for the sake of the injured man, He was bearing it silently the Goddess ran her hand over the wound and God felt as if a shower of blooms had fallen on Him giving Him great comfort” devi you have provided my body great comfort and freedom from excoriating pain,”.
“you saved a man didn’t you ,how did the man manage to cope with the pain which was searing his body?” questioned the Goddess
“devi the man is a great devotee of mine, he kept on repeating my name even in that unbearable state ,he had no time to dwell upon his fears he only thought about me throughout his ordeal, the more he thought of me the more courageous he became” ,replied God
“those who have trust in you are never losers ,now you go to bed and take some rest you look very tired” ,said Goddess Laxshmi and disappeared.
After God rested He walked into the living room where both His friends were engrossed in watching television. ,the TV was giving blow by blow account about the movement of the rapid action forces commodes, ”this type of coverage can only endanger the lives of security forces and even other commandos themselves”, observed God .”the channels need to practice some restraint and realize the sensitivity of the situation. evaluate it and then provide coverage without going over board,they could do away wih excessively detailed coverage,by giving every movement of the commandos ,the terrorist who are carrying satellite phones can easily get the information about their whereabouts and this is going to endanger their lives further”
“the television is become a part of the problem and not the solution .said John as he turned off the idiot box. Then he turned to God and asked Him about His nightmare,” it was very horrible, I have never experienced such carnage before”, replied God and then He went on to narrate His nightmarish ordeal”I am amazed how the man whose intestines were blown off survived ”,observed Harry
“God must have gathered all his pain in His heart ”,said God
“rightly said” ,put in John” it is God who has saved the man”
“the terrorists too were in excruciating pain with blood dripping from their bodies, it was all beyond human endurance and what is more perplexing that they were giving battle without rest ,food and water” ,said God
“it must be because they must have been fed drugs like cocaine and LSD which keeps a person alert and active for long hours at a stretch with out food and water and without feeling pain or any other bodily discomfort
It is also possible that their minds were conditioned through hypnotism. Hypnotism does not give you the feeling of pain even if you are severely hurt,this also enhances the fighting spirit and a person can also withstand hunger and sleep for longer hours”
“but what is the solution to this problem ?.asked John
“the terrorsits attack because there is a diabolic nexeus between the politicians,bureaucrats,investigating agencies and corrupt officers in the police force and, customs, this is the most corrupt nation in the world .For the greed of money ,the terrorists are helped by insiders ,unless these corrupt souls are weeded out and dealt with an iron hand which sends out strong messages ,the terrorists will go on striking again and again at the roots of the nation and weaken its foundation” ,said Harry
“but how do they recruit these boys?” ,asked God
“people who lead organized crimes use religion as the main bait, the young people they recruit to carry out their nefarious activities are from deprived class of society and since their whole family is taken care of by the organization the boys are easily lured into their trap,the young recruits are brain washed into believing that jehad is the only way out to save their religion and therefore they turn fanatics.Fanatisicim leads to lunacy and a lunatic fanatic is the greatest enemy of mankind”said John
“but how do we fight this menance?,asked Harry
“if the youth of this country gets together and starts a clean,honest movement which gives a dynamic leader to the country which every one can look upto and emulate then only the country can come out of this crisis” said John” besides destroying the country ,the regular terrorists attacks will traumatize the people, some people will get bouts of hysteria, some will get excited and harm themselves, some will become highly stressed and will be haunted by images of death and some will keep on hearing gun shots ,everyone’s life will be in a turmoil ,there will be lack of concentration at work and they will lose their mental health”
“only regular yoga and meditation can help men to cope with this situation, a distressed person experiences a very slow or fast breathing ,the first thing to do in these circumstances is to inhale and exhale deeply, this will not only regulate the circulation of blood but at the same time normalize the heart beat and the pulse rate, people who feel choked in the times of trauma should perform pranayam,breathe deeply through one nostril and breathe out through the other nostril,this exercise is excellent for soothing frayed nerves and in clearing the mind,and to keep the mind peaceful in the worst of circumstances then one should perform meditation.One should find a quiet place and sit crossed legged with eyes closed,breathe in and out rthymacally all the time concentrating on his breath.As you meditiate the clock stops in your heart ,you become a prayer yourself ,your focus shifts from disturbing thoughts and peace flows over your being” ,said God,
“is there no quick solution to the problem of terrorism?, asked John addressing God
“there is never a quick solution to any problem ,but if you wish really hard then the whole creation comes to your aid and makes sure your problem is solved ,but no problem can be solved without a loving heart .you should love everyone regardless of caste and creed ,there should be no boundaries in love.
Love means carrying another’s pain in your heart, protecting him from his insecurities and projecting upon him all the good qualities you have cultivated, and this boundless love if you give to others, it is bound to be reciprocated and this will start a chain of love, hate will die a natural death and the earth will be rid of terrorists and terrorism.
We should all veer towards universal religion if we want to save mankind, no two people are alike either in appearance, behavior or nature, yet despite this difference there is a common thread of humanity binding them. God is the centre of all religions and each one of us is moving towards the same God, once we realize that there is one God whom we have given different names then the conflict between different religions will automatically end”, said God
Everyone agreed that this was the best solution to end terrorism and then everyone went to their rooms for packing their bags ,for early next day, they had to vacate the house
