Kamdev finds a soul mate for Najma Appa as ordered by God

It was a hot afternoon ,the red heat beat mercilessly upon the earth ,not a human ,nor a bird or a beast could be seen around, everything was deserted Kamdev cursed himself for venturing out in such a weather ,suddenely his eyes fell on a young man clad in a pristine white dhoti and kurta hurrying in his direction this was the right man for Gods friend,”namaskar”,said Kamdev in greeting.at this the stranger turned his attention to him.he saw a young and a handsome face looking at him”young boy you should help me”,said Kamdev.”how can I help you?”,asked the boy
“I want you to come with me”,replied Kamdev
“What for? ”,was the boys question
“you will come to know when we reach our destination”,said Kamdev
“I am in a tearing hurry,I can not come with you”,the boy answered and strode away
Greatly disheartened Kamdev went and sat in a tea stall,the stall over looked a hair cutting saloon,he found an elderly man sitting in front of a huge mirror near the entrance running his fingers through his salt and pepper hair,stroking his cheeks with his palms ,yanking his head this way and that way ostensibly admiring his own reflection.The man seemed to be in great love with himself and why not,even at this age he had looked after his looks very well,he was having his hair cut and dyed Kamdev entered the saloon and sat down besides him, and he started a conversation with the stranger,”are you working in an office sir?”,he questioned the man
“no,I own a tailoring shop nearby”,the man replied
“you look well preserved for your age,”Kamdev said in an admiring tone
“you have to look good for the ladies who throng my shop to have their clothes stitched,”he smiled conspiratorily”I will let you into a secret,I am in love with this man who is trimming my hair
“you are in love with a man?”,Kamdev asked in a scandalized voice
“yes,and we are soon getting married”,Kamdev was at a loss for words,how was it possible for a man to marry a man?,how would the creation take place?nature had made the sex impulse very strong,therefore sex had a strong place in the martial relationship of a man and a woman,but sex between two men,he had never heard of this before,he must tell God about it,but first he must find a good match for Gods friend

He was wandering aimlessly looking out for a possible match for Najma appa when his eyes fell on the bus stop,he saw a tall and a handsome man with broad shoulders and salt and pepper hair and beard waiting at the stop,in one hand he was carrying a suitcase and with the other hand he was wiping his perspiring face.He was the perfect match for Najma,Kamdev decided and went and stood besides him and started a conversation with him, ”its very hot isn’t it”, observed Kamdev
“you are right ”,agreed the stranger
“where are you going?”.
“I am going to the school, I have been appointed the new English teacher” ,replied the stranger
“you have come all alone, where is your wife and your children”?”
“I am divorced and both my children are married and settled abroad, I was fed up of the fast life of the city and therefore I decided to find a job in the village and settle down here .City life is suffocating, it kills you slowly with its pollution, the air in this village is so clean and pure inspite of the terrible heat”.Kamdev was besides himself with happiness,atlast his search had ended,he had found a perfect match for Najma.”I too am going to the school,let us go together,we will hire a rickshaw,the bus never arrives in time therefore it is useless waiting for it”
Together they went to the school and met God,Kamdev looked at Him and God gave him His silent nod of approval,at that instant Najma wheeled herself into the Gods room where the stranger was being interviewed,the stranger looked around and his eyes met her eyes,at that moment Kamdev struck his arrow and it found its mark.God gave him an approving look and happily Kamdev bowed before Him and made his exit

Kandev wanted to run away from the red hot heat as soon as possible and return to his heavenly abode but as he was leaving he heard the sweet notes of a shehnai,inspite of himself he was attracted to the music and he went towards it.A marriage was being celebrated in a home,there were the usual presence of friends and relatives,music,the rituals and sumptuous food but the groom was missing,but nobody seemed to mind this,it was a tribal marriage where the people were accustomed to marry two girls rather then the bride and the groom. Following an age old custom grooms stayed at home and instead sent their sisters to get married on their behalf,the sister married the bride and took her home and handed her over to her brother who waited at his home with red turban and all the grooms wedding attire ,although Kamdev had seen the full creation of God,he had never witnessed such a wedding,when he enquired about this unusual custom,he was told that the presiding diety of the grooms village was a bachelor therefore he forbade the men of the village from getting married,anyone who tried to go against his wishes would either be dead himself or somebody in his family would die an untimely death.Amazing thought Kamdev in this age when the men were reaching moon and other planets,they were still in the jaws of superstation like the ancient man.
As he was walkng out of the vanue he saw a girl with complete bridal finery walking to the beat of drums followed by people dancing and singing going into a house richly decorated with golden yellow flowers,a gust of wind brought with it the musty smell of impending rain,suddenly the atmosphere turned cool and he felt better,Kamdev who walked with them followed the bride to the house,she was welcomed into the house by the elders of the family who led her to a decorated couch where another girl dressed as a groom was already seated,with the arrival of the bride the priest started chanting of mantras and tied the couple in marriage,when the groom was tying the mangulsutra on the brides neck, a person standing next to him remarked” what has the world come to these days instead of a boy marrying a girl ,a girl marries a girl” Kamdev who was completely scandalized by the happening waylaid one of brides uncles and asked him why was a girl being married to a girl.” these two girls were best of friends since childhood and when they grew up they were inseparable therefore they decided to marry when their parents refused they attempted suicide, therefore they decided to give into their demands instead of losing then forever ”,replied their uncle.

Kamdev couldn’t take any more of what was happening on the earth ,he immediately appeared before God and went and stood before Him ”what is wrong Kamdev you are still here ,I thought by now you must be back to where you belong” ,said God
“lord I cannot leave without telling you what is happening on this earth, like me you too will be stunned ,amazed and ashamed after hearing what I will tell you ”,said Kamdev
“so many intense feelings, surely something terrible must have happened”
“something which is beyond your imagination” ,said Kamdev theatrically
“beyond my imagination” ,laughed God ”you are becoming dramatic”
“I am not becoming dramatic my lord” ,Kamdev stopped ,then he said in a whisper, ”lord I have seen girls being married to girls and men being married to men”.
‘impossible ”,exclaimed God
“why impossible? ”,asked Goddess Laxshmi who was already present there, ”the men you have created have fallen to the very depths of vice and therefore they are capable of anything”,
“but by doing this they are going against the laws of nature ,they will bring ruin upon themselves,I have created each portion of human body for a different purpose,the nose is for smelling ,the eyes for seeing,the ears for hearing,the mouth for eating,the rectal opening for throwing out waste and the vagina for procreating. You can not misuse these organs,if you misuse them you are bound to suffer miserably both mentally and physically I have given the men every thing they wanted,,I don’t know where I have gone wrong”.God said in a sad voice
“you have given them more then what they deserve,most of them have got everything on a platter,they have not even struggled to get their share therefore they are bored and to get a kick out of life they are going against your laws”,said the Goddess
“maybe you are right”,said God”but how do I undo the wrong,how do I take back the luxurious life style,the innovative inventions from them which has brought them so much comfort that today they are losing the right way of living an d treading a path of destruction”
“don’t worry my lord,you neednt take away any thing,they will themselves lose everything they have gained because almost all of them are sick,evil and weird”,said the Goddess.
“when leaving the body the last powerful thought decides a mans future destiny,a man who lives all his life identifying himself with sensual pleasures and always catering to its appetites will be hoarding such sensous vasnas even at the time of time of departing from this world,this lowers him in the evolutionary scale and he is reborn with the acquired animal instincts so that his desire is fulfilled to the maximum,and therefore in subsequent lives too he behaves like an animal although he is born a human,on the other hand a humanbeing who recognizes the futility of a lascivious life and aspires to release himself from the thralldom of the flesh,moves up the ladder of evolution.When a man forsakes his body ,the last thoughts of a dying man order his future birth,therefore one should always fix his thoughts on me,and a man who always chants my name will have my name on his lips even when he is leaving his physical body to reach me”,said God,then turning to Kamdev,He said,”let us go for a walk,I feel disturbed,I need some freah air”
“lord how can you feel disturbed?”,asked the Goddess
“you are forgetting devi that I am in a human body which is always being tossed in the sea of emotions”,said God and left with Kamdev in tow.

Both of them went for a walk in the gardenThe garden was full of exotic and fragrant blossoms,the leaves rustled in the soft breeze which was laden with perfume drifting from the blossom laden bushes, every where peace,joy and quiet prevailed,God was lost in the beauty of the nature,when suddenly a pregnant cobra started slithering across their path.Within the twinkling of an eye the air was rent with the cries”snake,snake”the snake was surrounded by small boys who kept on shouting raucously. all of a sudden a hefty man clad in a dirty dhoti and wielding a heavy stick came upon the scene and started beating the snake mercilessly,before God could react everything was over.The snake was smashed beyond recoginition,God could not understand why the snake was killed,it had done no harm to anybody.It was quietly going on its way then why had it invited wrath of the people?the world was becoming very selfish,mean and destructive,survival was becoming difficult,every one wether rich or poor,educated and uneducated was choosing to become bad and wicked,”the snake has cursed the man for killing her and her innocent child for no fault of hers,the mans wife is pregnant and she will give birth to a child with all the emotions and feelings of a snake and every subsequent child of his will have snake like traits which will make his life very miserable, the man who detests snakes will now have to be mocked by its image throughout his life bringing a death knell to his happiness.
The meaningless destruction of an innocent life has completely changed his destiny which will take him to a miserable end .Every creature of mine is born with feelings and love ,love is the divine power of attraction in my creation that harmonizes ,unites and binds everyone togather. Animals and other creatures also love one and other and their offspring’s in some cases if one mate dies,the other succumbs soon after.All my creations are dear to me wether they are humans ,animals, birds or snakes,I have made them all with equal attention,love and care and whosoever divides,differentiates and disharmonizes has to face my displeasure”,said God.
“every human wants to indulge his ego”,said Kamdev”he tells himself that he comes first in the scheme of things and therefore everyone must give in to what he wants,and he wants to feed his desires by fair means or foul”.
“the path they are following only leads to sorrow which leads to depression and pain,when they come under their clutches they are heart broken ,they lament their fate quite forgetting that they themselves were responsible for their own destruction”,said God.
Suddenely a man appeared before them and handed them a leaflet,on asking him what was the leaflet all about,he replied a meeting was to be held which would be addressed by holy men from across the world that would guide the people from the age of kali to the golden age
“no one can guide anyone”,G od addressed the man”the man himself has to save his sinful soul and he can not save it without him willing it and making it happen,by clutching at straws and seeking out saviors, man can not save himself”,then addressing Kamdev,God continued,”this walk has disturbed and troubled me,I need rest,so I will go back home and lie down for some time”,Kamdev understood that God wanted to be left alone so bowing to God he left Him, lost in deep thought He walked towards His home
