God is threatened by the terrorist

Najma appa sat by the window watching the lightening streak across the inky black sky.The thunder rolled and the wind sailed through the open window disarranging every thing around her, She did not shut the window because she knew that the first rain of the season would make an appearance. She loved the feel of the rain on her naked skin, it was years since she had walked in the rain drenched to the skin, all of a sudden it started raining, first in tiny drops, then in big fat drops, The scent of the wet earth wafted through the open window transporting her to the days of her childhood. She could see herself returning home dripping wet, her clothes, handbag and even her shoes full of water, Her mother would ask her to change her clothes immediately and then she would dry her hair with a big soft towel and make her drink a strong cup of coffee laced with brandy, according to her mother this was the perfect antidote for warding off cold. Suddenely she became a young girl again and once again she wanted to experience the thrill of being in the rain, She wheeled herself to the entrance and faced the steps, it was a difficult task to move down the steps all by herself, it could be dangerous, but no power in the world could stop her today because she was possessed by the rain. She wheeled her chair right over the steps and the next thing she knew, she was lying on her face on the wet earth and the wheel chair had settled on its side a few steps away from her. She closed her eyes and let the rain fall on her till her skin tingled, she opened her mouth allowing the crystal clear water to flow down her throat and her senses reveled in the smell of the wet fragrant ground around her. She lay there enjoying herself thoroughly, she was full of ecstasy and amazement at having atlast achieved the unthinkable . She would have never done any thing like this in her saner moments, but the madness for the rains had made her take this step and she was enjoying every bit of her experience.
When her husband came looking out for her,. he was besides himself with worry to find her in the state she was in, the first thought that crossed his mind was that she had met with a serious accident,. But when he came upon her, he found her thoroughly enjoying herself, she seemed to be in seventh heaven, the joy and happiness on her face had to be seen to be believed” how come you are in this state?”, he asked her in a worried tone
“why what is wrong with me? I came here to experience the rains and I am enjoying myself thoroughly”, was her answer
“now enough of getting wait, come on let us go in otherwise you will catch pneumonia “.,he said, then picking her up, he put her in the wheel chair and wheeled her inside, he changed her clothes and made her a hot cup of coffee laced with brandy, a short while later when her husband came face to face God, he complained, “she has become very careless sir, she wheeled herself outside on her own to enjoy the rains but she was lucky she didn’t hurt herself inspite of falling from the chair”
“nothing happens before time” said Najma” if it was written in my karmas that I would hurt myself then I would have been hurt even in the house, every thing is predestined am I right sir?” she said addressing God
“you are absolutely right”, answered God”only one day is marked for death, but people who are afraid they die daily and people who are brave , have confidance in themselves and they don’t let any situation shake them”,
“but she should have asked me to take her out, I would have not refused her”, said her husband
you should always live an independent life let all the benefits and failures be yours ,then you wont be subservient to any one-you will be free to go anywhere and do anything for this you have to build confidance in yourself ,and your wife has great confidance in herself and I hope no body and no one will be able to shake her up, she still has a child living within her, infact everyone has a child in them at all times, but in many cases it gets lost, leaving an adult mind behind which is full of worries and tensions, But her child has not left her, it is still living in her,, this child has made her a fine person and she is therefore full of love like a little child”, Hearing all these praises from God she blushed a rosy pink. Just then the telephone rang and God who was near the phone, picked up the receiver, “so it is you bhiru”, spoke a voice in the receiver
“who is bhiru?”, asked God
“you, yourself”, said the voice
“but my name is God”
“whatever your name may be, you keep four petties ready we are coming tomarrow to collect them, if you don’t keep them ready then you will be khalas”,
“but what is a patti?”asked God in a surprised voice
“don’t be a sayana man,don’t tell me you don’t know what is a patti, one crore rupees means one patti and four crores mean 4 patties”
“I don’t have so much money”, said God
“you are an arab patti , your school has transformed an obsecure village into a fast growning multi-national centre, in a relatively short period of time your school has become one of the best teaching centres in the world with grants pouring in from all over the world and yet you say you have no money”
“all the money belongs to the school, personally I have nothing to call my own except the clothes on my back” said God
“wether you are rich or poor we have nothing to do with it, our only mission is to get the money,if you do not deliver us the money tomarrow then be sure it will be your last day on this earth, this an order from my boss who is the leader of V gang“, and the phone went dead in Gods hands
“whose phone was it?” asked Najma on seeing the worried look on His face
“it was a call from V gang, they were demanding 4 crores of rupees and they have given me tomarrow’s deadline, if I fail to deliver they have threatened to kill me”.
“v gang is an extremely dangerous they do not give empty threats”,Najma was besides herself with worry.
“don’t worry “,replied God, “I will find out a way, tomarrow is another day so why worry today, now go and take rest you have had a nasty fall, leave all the worrying to me”
God left the room and went to His bedroom where Goddess Laxshmi was waiting for him
“you are still enjoying your human form my lord, with the threat hanging over your head don’t you think its time for you to return”, said the Goddess
“what threat are you talking about?”, God asked feigning ignorance
“I heard every thing the terrorists were telling you on the telephone, from where are you going to bring so much money and you have already heard from Najma that they don’t give empty threats”, the Goddess said in a worried voice
“believe me devi I will find a way out”. Said God in a confident voice “now I want to be alone to do some serious thinking”, Goddess Laxshmi knew it was time to leave Him alone,she also knew that He could get out of any situation with out taking any help

The next day when God was all alone in His office, four mean looking men barged into His office and asked for God “I am God” ,said God appraising them from top to toe, they looked like hard core terrorists who would not hesitate to pick up a gun and shoot..
“we have come to collect our money is it ready?”, one of them who appeared to be their leader asked in a rough voice
“where is your boss?”, God asked dodging his question
“its none of your business we have come to collect the money on his behalf so hand it over to us”,the man replied angrily
“but there must be some body who must be the leader of your gang”,asked God
“what do you want to know about him?”
“I want to know to whom I am giving so much money, I have a right to know his name”
“replied God
“his name is Viper he is more dangerous then the snake after whom he has been named, if he bites some one the man wont even have time to ask for water before he dies”.
“and what is your name?” ,asked God
“my name is Salim langda and my friends here are chotu, motu and batli”
“I have never heard of such names before”, God said in an amazed tone of voice
“these names are given to us by our boss, I am called Salim langda because I walk with a limp, this friend of mine is called chotu because he is the youngest in the gang ,the man standing besides him is called motu because he is the fatest recruit and the man standing besides you is called batli because he is always drinking,”. Replied Salim
“why don’t you all take a seat we can then talk in leisure”, said God
“we have no time for talks we are in a hurry, so please give us the mal and we will leave”, said Salim who seemed to be their leader
“what will you have Tea, coffee or a cold drink?
“cut out the pleasantries and do as we say, don’t be sayana and don’t try to play games, give us our mal and let us go”, said motu
“come on now you are taking me wrong I was trying to be friendly to you, if you don’t want to be friends then it is your wish, by the way where does Viper stay, can I talk to him?”, asked God
“he does not stay one place, he keeps on moving therefore we do not know his whereabouts besides we donot have his mobile number so you can not talk to him”, said Salim
“How did your boss come to know about us?”, asked God
“through his agents who roam all over the place, they keep an eye on every one and they give the information to the boss and he decides whom to approach for money”, replied Chotu
“we only approach rich people who donot know what to do with their money”,put in motu
“but who gave you this wrong impression that we are rich, our institution runs on charity”, said God
“enough of this nonsense , cut out this crap and hand us the money otherwise---“, Salim removed the revolver from his pocket and fired in the air ,then looking at Him menacingly he continued, “ if you donot pay us the money immediately, I am going to pump these bullets right through you”
“but why us? There are many rich people who wont mind handing you more money then you have demanded from us”, said God
“we have already milked a lot of people . and now it is your turn”, said batli
“which people have you robbed so far?”, asked God
“we have taken money from the film stars who make more money then they rightly deserve, we have also taken money from film producers, directors and distributors who mint money on trash films which are full of sex and sleaze then we take money from the builders who fleece the buyers by charging them heavily for buildings which contain more sand then cement and who crumble like a pack of cards within a few years. Others who are always on our hit list are the traders who make money through black marketing and then there are the edcucational institutions who turn rich overnight through hefty
Donations and last on the list are swami’s and sanyasis”
“why swami’s and sanyasis?”. Asked God perturbed,
“because these charlatans have become stinkingly rich, richer then every one else in this world They have huge ashrams, trusts and muths which are given exemption from income tax therefore they are enjoying best of both the worlds, They are fooling God by praising Him and giving discourses on Him to help people discover their inner potential through the teaching of Bhagvat Gita and thereby they are ensuring their place in heaven, the gullible people who are in the grip of stress and misery believe them and turn their disciples and shower them with money and other luxuries, and these corrupt so called saints stay in the lap of luxury in the company of wine and women”, said Salim
“but a person who has turned a sanyasi , sadhu or swami has to live a very frugal life , he has to survive on alms, he should live in solitary confinement dwelling on God and very rarely he meets people to pass on his enlightened thoughts”, said God
‘ those are bygone days, but these days these rascals in the garb of swami’s and sadhu’s aspire for lakhs of devotees, because they know the more popular they become , the more money will land into their coffers, all holy men want to appear onTV channels to get as much exposure as possible and for this they pay lakhs of rupees to the TV channels for only half an hour. These fake guru’s have also employed professional publicists who try to promote them on every channel for a price. The best business today is to become a God man learn a little of holy scriptures, hire time on a popular channel and start giving sermons and within a relatively short time you will have your purse over flowing with money fancy cars, mansions and regular trips to fancy and exotic locations throughout the world,” said chotu
“we always target people who make money without working hard to earn it”, said Salim
“but we work hard and use the money to help educate and give shelter to poor and the needy we also do many other charitable works, then why have you targeted us?”, asked God
“we don’t know why have you been targeted but since our boss ordered us to take money from you, we are obeying his orders”, replied Salim
“and what do you do with the money?”, asked God
“we use the money to buy arms and ammunitions to destroy our enemies”,replied Motu
“and who are your enemies ?’,asked God
“any one who does not believe in islam is our enemy”.all of them replied in unison
“Allah, Krishna or Christ all are different names of one God ,all religions claim that it is the best religion in the world, but the full creation is created by God and He does not play favourites and He likes all the religions equally, all the paths lead to the same God, but the ways to reach Him are different. God does not require any favours, neither does He want anyone to fight in His name and defend Him and He does not like anyone to drag His name in all the dramas you regularly enact, so stop thinking of religion as some sort of loyalty badge to your creator, God loves everyone with no strings attached , he knows what is in your hearts, you may fight in His name, but He knows very well that you are doing all this to get money and power, you can fool everyone, even yourself but you cannot fool God you have fallen into emotional trap and you have allowed hate to enter your souls, hate as love has to have some emotion to grow on and so you target the non believers who donot beflieve in Allah, the hate has gone so much deep in you that it manifests itself in terrorists killings and vengeance against non-believers whom you term as kaffirs. You have turned into lovers of hate. God has many names and many forms you can worship Him in any form you fancy, everyone has a right to love the religion in which they are born, but it is very wrong to ask others to abandon their religion, the satan residing in your psyche is leading you away from Gods territory into his territory and therefore he is depriving you from love and warmth of Allah, Each religion is unique in its own way, this uniqueness is created by God so that each person finds the best path for himself, but fighting in the name of religion will never take you close to Him, if you really want to be close to Him then fight to remove hunger, poverty, misery and unhappiness from this world, this will make your life a shining example of loving and being loved.God measures you in life with how much joy you have spread around you and it is given back to you thousand fold in leaps and bounds, We are all born with certain dreams and with these dreams we can either make or mar our happiness, if you tread a wrong path you will be living a horrific dream and if you walk on the right path you will enjoy a lovely dream. All you need to do is to revert back to the teachings of Quran and the prophet known for his love and peace, its time to give up the hate which has poisoned your body and bathe in the shower of love “ said God
There was pin drop silence in the room for some time, then the silence was broken by Salim, “we are hardened criminals, can we change ourselves and turn over a new leaf”
“you have to develop a belief in yourself”. Said God, ”firm belief that you can without a shadow of doubt change to be a better person in life, virtually every person has a capacity to change and do wonderful things in his life, but the greatest stumbling block is doubt in ones capacity, Many on this earth have high hopes, aspirations and dreams but suddenely doubts creep in to undermine your abilities and effectiveness, if you believe that you want to change your path from crime to goodness then your feelings will become your reality, once you have clearly decided on the type of person you want to become, you will have already taken a major first step in developing new beliefs , inorder to introduce your new beliefs into your life you have to discipline yourself to act according to your new feelings If you begin to act like the person you want to be, you will actually adopt the values, the characteristics and qualities of that person and they will become a permanent part of your personality”, said God
“I am fed up of this life of crime, there is no peace in our minds, if there is no peace within us how can there be peace in our families, peace in our society, peace between nations? you spend trillions of dollars and millions of hours building beautiful buildings theatres, hospitals and churches but the terrorists bomb these centers to ashes within a moment, you can spend millions of rupees on making your city beautiful but if there are enemies roaming around they will smash every thing to smithereens , but there is no joy in our jobs and we find no joy in our success because after every success we are miserable inside our mind is in turmoil for our achievement is built on human misery”,said Salim
“your talks have opened our minds to the futility of the crime ,no longer we want to continue with this life in which we have no guarantee of our tomarrow”, said Batli, “we live from moment to moment not knowing when an enemies bullet will fell us, we can not have the enjoyment of a family life, we are living on an edge, from now on we want to live our lives like all of you- a happy and a contented life with out a care in the world”
“what about your boss will he let us go so easily”, asked God
“he has to “, replied Salim, “we have worked for him faithfully and honestly since we were knee high, Putting our lives in jeopardy we lived for him but now we want to live for ourselves”
“I have heard that in your profession , you can walk in with your own consent, but you can not leave till you are dead”, said God
“you are right sir, but we have decided to leave the life of crime and nothing can change our minds now, we want to live with you in these peaceful surroundings and work with you”
“but---------“,God did not know what to reply
“no buts”,said Salim,”you have opened our minds and you have taught us that there is one God with different names we can pray to Krishna in hindi, Allah in Arabic and Jesus in English and all will be heard by the same God so why fight in the name of religion if there is only one religion of love and peace, you have to give us shelter and protection otherwise we will all fast unto death”,
Just then Najma appa accompanied by her husband and doctor Mohammed made an entrance “who are these men and what are they doing here?”, Najma asked God in a concerned voice
God smiled and replied”these men had come to collect their ransom but suddenly they have undergone a change of heart and now they have decided to put an end to their criminal activities and live an honest and peaceful life here with us”
“we can not allow hard core criminals to stay with us in our institution”, said Njma,’s husband
“don’t worry about them, I will take their responsibility , they will be of great help in maintaining the security of our institution”, replied God
“I can not have trust in them”, said Mohammed
“you don’t have trust in them because you think once a criminal always a criminal, but there are instances when criminals have had a great change of heart and over night they have turned into great saints. There is the example of great sage Valmiki who was hard core criminal and overnight from criminal he turned into a sage and went on to write the great epic Ramayana”, said God
“but God they can not disassociate themselves easily from their past, past always follows you faithfully like a shadow darkening your path”, said Najma
“believe me there past will never come before them again, they have recognized the futility of a lascivious life and now they aspire to turn over a new leaf, and it is our duty to help them to achieve their goal, they will now pour the entire wealth of their capacity into the work they will be now doing, every creature on this earth is born with a higher and a lower nature, most of the time the higher nature forgets its own divinity and starts identifying with its lower nature and therefore men come to sorrow, misery and unhappiness. Men who turn away from their higher divinity, get knocked about and are at the mercy of their vasnas, such people are kicked about here and there like summer clouds and they can never fulfill their aims in life.With unfulfilled lives they get tossed about like many fallen leaves in gusty wind without any peace. All these days they were at the mercy of their lower nature, but now their higher nature has overcome their lower nature therefore they should be welcomed with open arms and taught to pray and then you will see the magic, Prayer will give rise to faith and this will give birth to love, love will bring peace and when they are peaceful within it will radiate to all the those around them bringing peace to their relations, peace to their friends, peace to their families and this will start a circle of peace which will ultimately bring peace to the communities, nations and the whole world”, said God
“if you are so sure of them then we will listen to you and employ them”, said Mohammed. He summoned a peon and asked him to show the four men their living quarters, when they had left the room, Najma said to God, ”.although we are keeping them with us but still I am not convinced, they are very dangerous sinners, they may harm us”
“I am well aware that they are dangerous and extremely dangerous sinners but Sin is a self-inflicting , insulting and degrading act which brings unlimited sorrow in a sinners life, but these people have resolved to change themselves, none of the waves in the ocean can rise, nor stay, nor ultimately reach anywhere but the ocean, in the same way not many people can remain totally divorced from their higher nature. Sin is not the nature of man, it is only the tarnish that diminishes the brilliance of his higher self due to the error of judgement on his part. He is called a sinful person on whom his body makes the heaviest demands ,in such a person the body enslaves his life and therefore he spends all his life in chasing his sensual desires which digs the grave of his peace and happiness, but these four people are eager to start a new life of meritorious actions and these actions will create new impressions and in the long run the patterns of their sins will be wiped out and new divine actions will be created in them”, said God
“but how did these hardened criminals suddenly had a change of heart?”, asked Najma again
“it is a law of life”, said God” that when one full of hatred approaches you, he can fill up your mind with hatred, but if some one approaches you with sincere love then even your bitterest enemy will be forced to reflect nothing but love towards you, in this world we are never in a comfortable situation, we are always agitated with worry, we are always thinking that by changing our situation we will overcome our mental agitations and our worries will disappear, but it is the nature of the material world that we can not be free from worry and anxiety, our dilemma is that we are always trying to find a solution to our problems, but we can never find a perfect solution to our problems. Even if I had given into their demands, our problems would have not ended, seeing us bowing before their demands, they would have been encouraged to make more and more demands with the result we would have reached the brink of depression so the best thing was to change their attitude with sincere love and be free from the problem facing us”.
“but this miracle only you can perform, some times I have a feeling that you are God come in the form of a human being”, said Mohammed
“only you can perform this miracle, we can never convert even a single person to our point of view”, said Najma’s husband
“you can”, replied God, “have faith in yourself and unlimited love in your heart and then you too can perform miracles. I will tell you a story-lord Buddha had a cousin who was very jealous of him because of his popularity, one day he caught hold of an elephant and made him drunk and left him loose on Buddha, but seeing him drunk he felt nothing but pity and love for the animal, so strong was his feeling of love that the raging animal got the same spark lit in his heart and humbly he lay down at Buddha’s feet, this tells you that the power of love is so great that not only human beings but also animals can come under its grip”

That night when God was going to His quarters He found all four of them standing near the mogra and rose trees with eyes closed reveling in the fragrance permeating the atmosphere, God walked to where they were standing and asked them,”aren’t you happy to be alive?”
They opened their eyes and looked at him,” it is because of you sir that today we are enjoying this heavenly atmosphere, these trees with their beautiful blooms are full of magic, I am entranced by this magic, I have never seen such beauty in my life before”, said batli
“neither have we”, repeated the others, “we have “, repeated the others “from the very beginning of our lives we have only seen misery, pain, hatred death and destruction but now we feel life couldn’t get better and today we have come to know what happiness and peace means, it’s the most beautiful feeling in the world”
‘happiness is internal and not external, said God “if you are happy in your mind , even if you have nothing to call your own even then you are happy, happiness becomes your second nature. Life is short and to be happy you should always move on the right path then you will enjoy life, enjoy every moment of your life, savor every precious moment God has given you, remember enjoyment is free and right in front of you and it is upto you to grab it with both your hands or let it go”, He smiled and left them to ruminate on what He had jusy said
In the beginning the four of them would get restless and have violent fights with each other, once or twice they even walked away , but they would return and get back to their work ,Najma would always tell God that He had done a grave mistake by giving them shelter, but God would reply sagely that these were their teething troubles and God was right, very soon the four of them took to their new life as fish takes to water.Seeing them happy and blooming in their new environment, Goddess Laxshmi erased from their minds and the mind of their boss Viper complete memory of each other so that four of them lived a happy and peaceful life.
